Hi

In the latest months (it started around nov/dec 2006) I experienced
some random kernel panics.
After some time I managed to work out what was happening.

I found this patch
http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/11/29/335 and actually seems to fix the
problem. I'm running the latest 2.6.20 with the following patch since
1 week and I'm not having panics anymore.

I hope this helps.
Maxxer

ps please CC me as I'm not in the list.

The fix for that bug was put into the kernel long before
2.6.20, so 2.6.20 all by itself should work just fine.

That patch applies "fine" to 2.6.20.1:

linux-2.6.20.1 # patch -p1 --dry-run < /home/maxxer/kerpatch.txt
patching file net/ipv6/ndisc.c
Hunk #2 succeeded at 559 (offset 2 lines).
Hunk #3 succeeded at 638 (offset 4 lines).
Hunk #4 succeeded at 1390 (offset 7 lines).

If this is not the correct fix for that bug I have some other problem,
because this seems to have fixed for me! ;)

Thanks

Maxxer

It just means there is a miscalculation somewhere else,
because the bug that patch was meant to fix was cured
by a different fix.

Guessed so....
Can I do something to dig the problem?

Thanks
